CyRise is a world-class investor, supporter and champion of cyber security startups in Australia, and now we are expanding into the Asia Pacific. We want the right person to help us achieve this vision.
The role
CyRise is seeking a motivated self-starter to build, maintain and manage our dealflow database. You will research, identify and make contact with cyber security startups across the Asia-Pacific and Australia who have the right characteristics to join our third Accelerator program. You will be required to update and maintain our database on a regular basis.
As a Dealflow Analyst, you will play a key role in CyRise’s strategic outreach and onboarding program.
What you’ll be doing
- Research — Using a combination of databases and web search techniques, identify cyber security startups and founders which fit with CyRise Accelerator selection criteria and / or CyRise Bootcamp criteria
- Data input — Maintain a high quality of inputs into our online startup database
- Email outreach — conduct initial email outreach to ascertain startup interest.
- Track dealflow — ensure all identified cyber security startups are tracked and regularly updated throughout the due diligence process

- Someone who is ambitious, bright and self-directed, with high standards of execution
- Someone who is highly analytical and can draw conclusions from often fragmented information and data sets.
- Someone with a strong grasp of Excel
- Someone who can craft a compelling email that succinctly highlights the CyRise value proposition in 1 or 2 sentences.
About CyRise
CyRise is a venture accelerator that focuses on early stage cyber security startups in Australia and the Asia-Pacific. We provide the targeted support that startup founders need for global success.
Based in Melbourne, CyRise offers a 4-month residential accelerator program, intensive coaching and mentoring in startup skills, $50,000 in investment, expeditions to Israel or the US, and access to our world-class mentors, corporate customers and investors.
CyRise is a partnership between Deakin University and Dimension Data.
How we’d like to work with you
This is a part-time, fixed length contract starting immediately, for the period of August-November 2019 based in our Melbourne Docklands co-working space. There is the opportunity for ongoing contract work in the future.
You will be a key member of a small team, which is single-minded in delivering a high-quality experience for our accelerator startups and the wider cyber security startup community. This means you will have access to an amazing network of talented people, and you can expect to be learning every day.
